Tetrodotoxin is from the pufferfish, blue octopus and some poisonous frogs. Neurotoxicity results from inhibition of Na-K pumps causing paresthesias and rebound hypersensitivity. Like most poisons in toxicology, the treatment is aggressive supportive care.
